What am i doing?
I AM 6 YEARS OLD
My name is Emma and I am a 6 years old girl studying at Whampoa PCF Sparkletot. I am K2 this year. I love to read, play games and watch educational videos!
MY STEMIE PROJECT
I wrote a book on some learning challenges & emotions, I’ve also help built a VR googles for children to experience some learning challenges.
SUPERPOWER
My superpower is Empathy and I use it to write this book to help my readers understand more on learning challenges and have empathy towards others.
PROBLEM STATEMENT.
Sometimes children throw tantrums, and other children don’t know what to do when the teacher is not around.
How did I know? I experienced it and I wrote it down a journal. When someone in my class got upset or shouted, I wrote down what and how it happened.
SOLUTION.
I am going to invent a book that has games in it, it will help children to learn about learning challenges and how to care for others when they are feeling down.
DID YOU KNOW?
Singapore has about 35,500 students with reported special educational needs as of December last year, according to MOE. About 80 per cent of these students are in mainstream schools, which cater to students who have cognitive abilities and adaptive skills to access the national curriculum and mainstream learning environment.

LEARNING DISABILITIES.
This book introduces to the reader different conditions that can be found in children, it talks about autism , ADHD, down syndrome, dyslexia, anxiety disorder and speech disorder.
LEARNING FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS
This book introduces to the reader different feelings and emotions that can often be found in children especially children with the above condition.
USING MY SUPERPOWER OF EMPATHY.
I went to the library to borrow over 100 books and watched many videos to learn about why they behaved like this. After learning more about these emotions and challenges such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Speech disorder, I felt that other children should learn more about them too, to show our love for each other.
